The Capulet Ball at Castello di Amorosa

The Capulet Ball

At Castello di Amorosa

Perhaps our most elaborate ball – join us at this authentically-built, 13th-century-inspired Tuscan castle and winery in world famous Napa Valley!

Cross the drawbridge and wind through the cellars to an elegant wine reception paired with passed hors d’oeuvres in the beautifully vaulted tasting room. Enjoy a seated family-style dinner matched with Castello wines under the stars in the courtyard with the Capulet family. Dance amidst the stunning frescoes of the Great Hall and witness the lovers profess their bliss in the covered loggia.

A combined party and theatrical event, the Ball will envelop our guests in the grandeur, romance, and beauty of a sensuous masquerade. Action from Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet Act I and the famous balcony scene will be played out during the course of the night. Ending on a high note just before the plot takes a turn for the worse, we will enjoy the story of the young lovers steeped in hope and joy. After the poetic exchange of boundless love, the party will continue and our guests will enjoy dessert and conversation with the performers. In keeping with We Players’ penchant for fully-immersive experiences, the story will unfold not in front of, but around and with our guests.

In each spectacular setting, guests will have the opportunity to party with Mercutio, raise a glass with Lord Capulet, join the festive group dance – We Players’ spicy version of the pavane, flirt with fellow masked revelers, and share in the age-old Capulet Family Candle Ceremony before the night is through.

The Capulet Ball at The Episcopal Church of St. Mary the Virgin

The Capulet Ball

At The Episcopal Church of St. Mary the Virgin

Join us for the opening night of this one-of-a-kind masquerade and performance!

Party with the Capulets in the amber light of this 1891 Church, and step back into the sleepy countryside that was Cow Hollow at the end of the nineteenth century. Built on an underground river, the natural spring in the brick-laid courtyard provided drinking water to the neighborhood after the 1906 earthquake (and could do so again if need be). Mix with the party-crashing Montagues aside the stunning outdoor fresco mural, created by artists Lucienne Bloch and Stephen Dimitroff in 1966. Soak up history and celebrate life and love with members of this thriving, 125-year-old church community.

A combined party and theatrical event, the Ball will envelop our guests in the grandeur, romance, and beauty of a sensuous masquerade. Action from Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet Act I and the famous balcony scene will be played out during the course of the night. We Players cycles back and digs deeper into the play that began it all,
